Eligibility
Bachelors or Masters Degree in an art related field. Prior teaching experience required. 1 year of prior teaching experience preferred. Please submit: 1. Cover letter 2. Résumé or CV 3. 10 numbered high-resolution digital images of artworks created by students under your instruction and 5 original lesson plans. 4. 10 numbered high-resolution images of your personal artwork (accepting jpg, tif, pdf on CD, email, or through DropBox, Hightail, etc.*) 5. Image inventory (docx or pdf) with: a. Title b. Year c. Medium d. Dimensions 6. Brief statement describing your teaching philosophy (less than 300 words) 7. Brief Bio describing your background (less than 300 words) 8. 2 professional reference letters, or contact info for 2 professional references. Program Description
The Bascom’s Education Fellows are critical members of our team. They are given job responsibilities that uphold the mission of our organization and prepare them for careers in the arts. Education Fellows must be disciplined, hard workers with teaching experience who are able to tackle a broad range of assignments. The Education Fellowship is a 3 – 12 month position (flexible dates upon approval) under the supervision of the Director of Education and Outreach. First and foremost, the Education Fellow is Lead Instructor for regional pre-K, K-12, college, adult, and senior groups that partner with The Bascom. The instructor also designs self-guided museum activities for the public, and supports public programs.
