33 Officina Creativa
About
33 Officina Creativa (33OC) is an artists-run nonprofit association based in Toffia, Italy with the aims of diffusing contemporary art and culture through international artistic exchanges and activities that enable the inclusion of the territory in which the association operates into a broader cultural horizon. 33OC hosts an international Artist-in-Residence program and produces theatre and music performances, workshops, classes and other public programs. It aims to operate as a regenerative social and cultural meeting place while becoming a discussion platform for artistic production. Our goal is to preserve the diversity of nature and culture of Sabina region and to prevent the museification of Toffia – a small and quiet medieval hilltop village – by offering a shared place of cultural and social exploration for national and international artists, the local community and people from various cultural fields.
Local Information
The residency is hosted within a deconsecrated 13th Century church (now a theatre) and adjacent building, which also hosts various cultural activities for the community (theater, film screenings, concerts, and various classes.) Located in Toffia – a small and quiet medieval hilltop village in the middle of Sabina, an olive oil producing area about 60km NE of Rome, Italy. The residency is open to individual professional artists at any stage of their career, working in visual arts, photography, environmental arts, film & video, media arts, performing arts, music and literature. Each residency period concludes with an Open Studios day.
