The residency is open to professional artists at any stage of their career, working in: visual arts, photography, film & media arts, performing arts, puppetry, music, and literature. We particularly encourage projects that respond to the particular space and natural environment of the residency.
Number of Participants
33OC hosts a maximum of 3 artists at one time. We provide shared accommodation (two large bedrooms which can sleep two people each). Kitchen and bathrooms facilities are shared by all the residents. We accept applications from individual artists only. In the case of artist-couples, each artist needs to submit a separate application for residency unless working on a joint program. In which case we accept 1 project proposal but both artists need to provide their own supporting material.

The program offers artists the opportunity to confront new ideas or experiment with their work and the particular territory of Sabina region. We wish to give artists the opportunity to find new ways of interaction between art, society and the territory. The residency is hosted within a deconsecrated 13th Century church (now a theatre) and its adjacent building, which also hosts various cultural activities for the community (theater, film screenings, concerts, and various classes.) Located in Toffia – a small and quiet medieval hilltop village in the middle of Sabina, an olive oil producing area about 60km NE of Rome, Italy. Each residency period concludes with an Open Studios day.
