Program Description

The Border Art Residency, a non-profit organization affiliated with the El Paso Community Foundation, offers a selected artist a period of retreat for creative work in a living/studio space in the heart of El Paso, Texas. Resident artists are provided with a fully furnished living/working space, a monthly stipend of $600, and all utilities paid (including Internet). The living space is a fully furnished 11 x 16’(Approximately) studio apartment. The next open residency period is from September 1 to December 1, 2022. Applications will be accepted until May 23, 2021. The selected artist will be notified by July 15. Through a newly formed partnership with Artstream, a transformative learning program supported by the El Paso Community Foundation, visiting border artists will be able to share their art and thinking process, and stimulate dialogue with learners in the El Paso area. Artstream collaborates with artists and participating schools or cultural organizations.
