Program Description

MASH-UP, in Berlin, Germany, explores the diverse methodologies of collage from a multitude of vantage points. MASH-UP intensively explores the broader concepts around collage as a blueprint for thinking, making and dialoguing about artistic practice. MASH-UP, a multi-sensory experience, brings a plethora of voices to the discussion around knowledge gathering and idea generation. The daily structure of MASH-UP includes conversations with multiple art intermediaries, an intensive psycho-geographical walk, in addition to workshopping with a DJ, investigating smell, taste and the meaning of ingredients with a chef, printing with a Berlin press that uses Risograph, in addition to experiencing movement and dance with a choreographer. How does collage sound, feel, taste, and move us? The essence of collage expands the boundaries of what is possible by merging materials to create new meaning and MASH-UP will be doing just that.
