Eligibility

Open call for writers, researchers, curators, photographers, graphic designers, illustrators, animators, fashion designers, jewellers, media artists, video / film makers, from all around the world. World of Co is the first all year round multidisciplinary artist residency program in Sofia, Bulgaria. It was initiated in 2017 by independent art organization that wanted to support the local scene and the visiting artists. World of Co Artist Residency Program offers friendly, supportive and stimulating surroundings to Bulgarian and international visiting artists and curators, wishing to realize field research or/and an artistic project in Bulgaria. The duration of the program is from 1 to 3 months. During this time frame, this residency will provide artists with time to work on individual or collaborative projects alongside other resident artists. The participants focus on research, experiments, production, learning new skills, critical discourse, networking, collaboration.

THE PROGRAM INCLUDES: Accommodation & Shared studio space in the center of Sofia Introduction to Bulgarian art & culture: From traditional to contemporary art (series of lectures) Bulgarian language lessons for beginners Weekly group meetings Two workshops Support with research and project execution Open studio day or group exhibition and the end of the stay Museum / Gallery visit Sofia City Guide - a curated collection of contemporary galleries and museums, art stores, print shops and etc. Curated list of art and culture events in Sofia Options for organizing artists' talk or workshop – present your art to the local audience Bulgarian SIM card In the spirit of an intercultural dialogue and exchange, artists are also stimulated to explore the local culture and contemporary art scene.
