Program Description

Distillery is a year-long studio residency designed to help 7 emerging artists transition into a professional artistic career by supporting a rigorous studio practice and providing professional development opportunities in a creative and affordable environment. This program focuses on inspiring participants to embrace new challenges in their work and connect to a supportive community. Artists work throughout the year towards a group exhibition at the Brew House Gallery. Selected artists will gain access to local mentors and to monthly professional development workshops led by a variety of experts in the field. Guest speakers will guide group critiques and give advice on essential skills for artists such as developing effective work samples, writing grant proposals, collaborating with community, marketing as an artist, and more.
