Eligibility

The call is opened to Italian and international individuals or groups working professionally in the field of professional theatre and performing arts. Only artistic projects that realize an experimentation with scenic languages are eligible for selection. Amateur works, drama theater and performances of entertainment won’t be taken in account. The festival is normally not programming performances longer than 60 minutes. Submissions have to include: Artistic curriculum of the company or of the artist; Artistic form and technical specifications of the performance; link to the full video of the performance (if the proposal consists on a debut, link to a video of the rehearsals). Video material has to be viewed directly online (by a link) and they mustn’t be downloaded. Each group or artist can submit only one proposal. All the submissions (with video links) have to be sent by e-mail to: operaprimafestival@gmail.com writing on the object “Submission to Festival Opera Prima 2020"

Program Description

Opera Prima Festival wants to host and enhance the multiplicity of trends and researches in the contemporary theatre scene. It also wants to become a bridge between different theatrical generations: in addition to the performances selected by this call, every year there will be four important artists or European historical theatre groups, that have to invited to the festival an unknown young artist or an unknown young group. The selected performances are going to be included in the 2020 edition of Festival Opera Prima. All expenses and practices concerning organization, communication, staff, promotion of the event will be in charge of the organization of the Festival. At each selected company will be paid, after the presentation of an invoice, a fee that has to be agreed and will be guaranteed the possibility of lodging at an affiliated guest house (just for the people working in the performance). https://www.festivaloperaprima.it/en/2020-call-for-entries
