Program Description

Launched in 2018, the ISSP Riga Residency provides an opportunity for concentrated work on a personal project informed by interaction with the city and its residents or quality time to rethink and complete already ongoing work. We welcome artists and curators interested in exploring the social and cultural context of Riga. The ISSP Riga Residency provides a private room in a comfortable apartment in the center of Riga, access to the library and other facilities of the ISSP and a part-time staff member to provide local support and contacts and introduce the residents to the local arts and culture scene. The Residency is organised in cooperation with kuš! – a Riga-based international platform for comics artists and illustrators, which will create extra opportunities for interdisciplinary interaction between the Residency participants.
