Eligibility
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION Artists working in all media and at all levels of their career are encouraged to apply. Applications will be judged based on the quality of work samples, statement of purpose, and potential to make the most of their time in the program. A panel of arts professionals and artists will review applications and select artists for fall 2018 and spring 2019. All applicants will be notified by e-mail. PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR EMAIL MOCA FOR SELECTION RESULTS. ELIGIBILITY All applicants must be able to work in the United States, 18 years or older, not currently enrolled in any degree program, and able to demonstrate need for a studio. Applicants may not be a resident artist in another studio program at the same time as the residency.
Number of Participants
1-4 residents participants would be occupying the shared space based on the schedule. The selected artists will each receive a 400 sq. ft. studio and a 400 sq. ft. apartment to create new work at MOCA Tucson. Artists will have free WiFi, access to shared bathrooms/kitchens/library/living space, and access to a shared woodshop/production space.

Program Description
MOCA Tucson is the pre-eminent, artist-centered contemporary art institution in the Southwest. We believe that art has the power to change the world. Through varied programs, MOCA is Tucson’s primary resource for contemporary art and maintains a full exhibition, education, and artist-in-residence program. Artists working in all media and at any stage of their career are welcome to apply for residencies for a minimum of 3 weeks and a maximum of 3 months between October 1 and December 31, 2018, and February 1 through April 30, 2019. Artists are encouraged to give a public lecture and/or workshop during the course of the residency for which stipends will be offered. During the course of the residency, we will arrange for curator visits to the artists’ studios. MOCA staff is on-hand to provide technical support and to respond to the studio needs of our Artists-in-Residence. Spouses, children, and pups are all welcome to visit and live with selected artists during their residency.
