• Participation in NEW INC’s program is a year-long commitment, Sept 2019-August 2020. • Applicants must be US citizens or have the ability to secure a visa for conducting business in the US • Applicants should be aligned with NEW INC's values of experimentation, collaboration, and social impact • Membership is not open to students / people enrolled in an academic program

Number of Participants

Our community is curated as an interdisciplinary ecosystem that represents a range of skills, backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives. We believe that diverse environments and cross-disciplinary exchange yield better ideas and more resilient networks. Our community includes: Independent Practitioners: Artists, designers, filmmakers, musicians, writers, activists, administrators, researchers, scientists, etc. developing ambitious, experimental new work that investigates emerging technology and its influence on culture Studios & Collectives: Teams working in design (graphic, mobile, web, product, architecture, fashion, animation, exhibition, etc.) and entertainment (interactive installations, VR, AR, gaming, experiential, performance, etc.) Start-Ups: Early-stage non-profit, social enterprise, or for-profit organizations working at the intersection of culture and tech. Seasoned professionals: In the early stages of a new creative career or project.

Program Description

NEW INC is the New Museum’s incubator for people working at the intersection of art, design and technology. Apply now to join us for Year 6, which runs from September 2019 - August 2020. NEW INC is a shared workspace and incubator program supporting an interdisciplinary community of 100 people each year. Our year-long program runs September-August, and is designed to support creative practitioners as they pursue a sustainable practice or bring a new business to life. NEW INC is for individuals and small teams of up to four people. Prospective members can choose between two membership types: Dedicated Desk ($500 monthly) or Hot Desk ($300 monthly). Teams are welcome to choose a mix of membership types. In Year 6, we will offer 5 Tracks, or focus areas for members to participate in: Interactive Experiences, Museum Technology, Creative Experiments, Art + Code, and Ideas for the City.
