Program Description

ArtsIceland residencies are guided by the overall mission of encouraging and facilitating an open-ended approach to the artistic process and working with artists who are searching to create works which have a significant cultural impact. People taking part in the residency program are assisted in familiarising themselves with this unique location, its people and their culture. Within reasonable limits, they are also assisted in their research related to the projects they are working on. ArtsIceland collaborates with Outvert Artspace and artists in residence can apply to make use of the space, which is located in the same building, for exhibitions or other public events. Visiting artist are expected to take part in artist talks/presentations while at the residency. They also have the opportunity to organize events and/or exhibitions.
