KAMEN Artist Residency
Eligibility
KAMEN Artist Residency is a place that aims to cater to different types of artistic practices. KAMEN is interested in exchange between people, ideas, methodologies and disciplines - bridging diverse practices and interconnecting in a variety of ways. KAMEN as well is suitable as a peaceful place for retreat; to work on the production of art works, perform research or write. We welcome artists, curators and academics across a wide range of specialisations; artists working with performative practices, historical and sociopolitical research, mythology, anthropology, religion, geology, environmental issues, contemporary film and writing forms etc. Artists of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and genders are welcome, at different stages in their artistic career and across a variety of disciplines. Residency fee: € 1.250 per month Duration of the residency: 1 to 3 months Residency period: 1 May- 31 October Location: Orah, Bosnia-Herzegovina
Number of Participants
The residency building is newly built, surrounded by a large terrace and a private ground reaching out to the lake. Individual artists and duo-artists are accepted, groups up to 7. Not-artist partners or children are not allowed; exception: single mom (and dad's). KAMEN provides accommodation for 4 artists at the time, with private rooms, private and shared working space and living areas: kitchen, living room, dining room, bathrooms, terrace, and the land around the building. • 4 private rooms (28m2); wooden floors, large windows; bed, closet, table • 2 small, one-person guest rooms (for interested professionals; max. two nights) Studio information: • 4 private studios, with a common space with a large terrace • Communal work space (100 m2) • Outside: various half-open spaces, to be flexibly Studios are suitable for various disciplines. Technical information: video projector (1x), media player (3x), lcd screen (3x)

Program Description
KAMEN encourages an outcome to the time spent at the residency, but is not outcome oriented. Each participant is invited to hold a public presentation, in any preferred format, scale and environment, at the end of their residency period. KAMEN facilitates exhibitions, presentations and screenings to be held at a number of institutional, alternative or public spaces, in collaboration with our partners. Residents can also hold a lecture, master-class or workshop for Academy of Fine Arts students in Trebinje. KAMEN encourages development of projects with the local communities, organisations and soil.
