Eligibility

• over 18 years of age, regardless of nationality • based in Europe with a long stay visa or a residence permit (In the context of this open call ‘Europe’ is EU, UK and Schengen countries.) • who have taken part in at least 1 solo and 1 group exhibition in public institutions at the time of applying • who accept the terms and conditions of the residency

Number of Participants

The two Residencies at the Woning Van Wassenhove each welcomes individual applicants. A companion is allowed for up to one continuous week during the residency.

Program Description

Museum Dhondt-Dhaenens is proud to announce two new funded residencies at the Woning Van Wassenhove, a landmark modernist building designed by the Flemish architect Juliaan Lampens in Sint-Martens-Latem, near Ghent, Belgium. The two residencies will each allow one Europe-based candidate of any nationality to stay in the Woning Van Wassenhove for up to 4 consecutive weeks between September and December 4 consecutive weeks between September and December 20212021. Since the Woning is a single person heritage house, the emphasis is primarily on reflection and research, although production that respects the integrity of the house is possible. — The FABA Artist Residency is aimed at practicing artists in any creative field. — The Art & Architecture Residency is aimed at practitioners in any creative discipline whose work is situated at the intersection of art and architecture.
