Program Description

Every project is developed site-based which means we start investigation and production once the researcher is here, in Mexico City. According to availability*, researchers that are welcomed into the program need to work between 4 and 6 weeks. *Availability is arranged between the applicant and the Lab. The advising for each applicant is personalized and that’s why usually there´s only one resident at a time. Collaboration depends on many factors that are related to the nature of each research, nevertheless, The Lab always tries to push residents into prioritizing human and social interaction in their processes and outcomes. The Lab Program has formed associations with various independent art spaces, art practitioners, and local businesses that have collaborated with each resident. Two of the main associates are Pandeo-DF & Frontera-Garibaldi, which offer to most residents housing and workspace.
