Program Description
*FUNDING AVAILABLE* Nestled in the French Pyrenees, surrounded by snowcapped peaks, waterfalls and forests, is the picturesque thermal town of Aulus-Les-Bains. In the town, housed in a beautifully renovated 19th Century hotel, is CAMP - the first of a new breed of arts residency. ** TUVA AND ITS MUSIC is led by acclaimed master throat singers, Alash Ensemble. The course will strive to bring the students to a holistic understanding of Tuva through its music, teaching not only the vocal techniques required for production of xöömei and other Tuvan types of vocal music but also Tuvan instruments such as xomus, doshpuluur, shoor, and igil. Additionally, Alash Ensemble will illustrate the connection of Tuvan music to the language, nature, and way of life of Tuva. This five-day course provides a great opportunity for students to achieve real musical growth in the breathtaking Pyrenean mountains. * Click 'Apply Now' for more details.
