Eligibility

The purpose of the program is to provide emerging and established artists from all creative fields a port for free expression and a place to meet with others alike in a small collaborative community. To be considered for the Residency, send us a filled out Application Form,  CV, 5-10 recent work samples (up to 10MB) to contact@inhere.is

Number of Participants

The Creative Centre is located in Stöðvarfjörður, a village in the East Fjords of Iceland. It was established in 2011 and is an ongoing collaborative and community project. A group of people acquired the abandoned Fish Factory of the village and funded a non-profit cooperation which owns the building and manages the daily operations and business of the Centre. The projects aim is to demonstrate the possibility of strengthening small, remote communities with creative initiatives and to be a source of inspiration for others alike. Seven Artists from all creative fields are welcome to join the programme. The duration of the stay is 1-6 months. Artists can invite their partner for a short stay upon prior arrangement .The maximum stay is five nights. It is worth to mention that two dogs, Tumi & Skotta, are “at work” in the Centre Centre most days. Tumi & Skotta are human-friendly dogs and spread love and joy. They are not guest in the Artist Studios unless they are invited by Artists.

Program Description

Seven Artists from all creative fields are welcome to join the programme. The duration of the stay is 1-6 months. We offer a Shared Studio (95 m2) for six Artists and a Private Studio (18.5 m2) for one Artist. The Centre has wood-, metal,- ceramic-, print- and sewing workshop, kitchen and a Concert hall. Artists have access to the workshops & facilities in the Centre, in consultation with a team member. Artists stay together in two big houses, located in the heart of the village and are in a 3-5 min walking distance from the Centre. The houses have a garden, individual bedrooms, kitchens, living room, bathroom, washroom and WiFi. Each artist has a private bedroom and shares other facilities with their housemates. Towel, bed linen, toilet paper, cleaning products for housecleaning and washing machine are provided. On arrival a pick up from Egilsstaðir Airport is provided. Other expenses; transport, meals and art supplies are the responsibility of each participant.
