Eligibility

Applicants are evaluated by our review panel and Wassaic Project staff. Residents are selected based on the quality of their work, commitment to their practice, and ability to interact positively with the community at large. Notifications for our 2021–2022 Winter Residency program will go out by August 2, 2021.

Program Description

For residency applicants: The Wassaic Project accepts 3 – 6 month proposals for our Winter Residency program (November 2021 – April 2022). This call is individual artists, collaborative teams, and groups of 2 or more individual artists opting to live together. The residency fee is $1,600 per month PER GROUP/TEAM, which includes: semi-private studio space(s), a private 4 bedroom house (all utilities included), access to our Wood Shop and kiln, staff support, and programming such as our Visiting Artist program (Zoom studio visits) and Virtual Open Studios. For FAMILY residency applicants: The Wassaic Project is accepting proposals for our FAMILY Winter Residency program (November 2021 – April 2022) for 1 – 8 weeks in length. This call is specifically for FAMILY residents and the residency fee is $1,600 per month per family. Applicants are eligible for our Work and Family Fellowship, a no-fee residency and a $500 honorarium to several family residents per year.
