About
Aarhus Center for Visual Art (Aarhus Billedkunstcenter, AaBKC) is an artist resource center supporting visual artists in Denmarkâs Central Jutland region. Our residency program, AaBKC Residency, facilitates networking as a mode of artistic and curatorial research. Each year we invite one artist and one curator to explore the Aarhus art scene by meeting local artists and arts professionals, visiting artist studios and exhibition spaces, and participating in networking meetings and cultural events. By focusing on networking, AaBKC Residency offers local and international artists and curators a chance to learn from one another through the exchange of ideas, perspectives, and expertise. The program is designed to foster short- and long-term professional development, as residents broaden their knowledge base, develop new and meaningful professional contacts and work relationships, create future work opportunities, refine networking skills, and build other vital professional capacities.
Local Information
AaBKC Residency is based in Aarhus, Denmark. Located on the eastern coast of Jutland, Aarhus is the second-largest city in the country and boasts a bustling harbour and thriving arts community.
