About
Art Explora joined forces in 2021 with the Cité internationale des arts to create a biannual residency program for artists and researchers in the Cité internationale des arts in Montmartre, in Paris. The program gives artists and researchers from all over the world the opportunity to engage in research and creative work in the heart of Paris, in connection with the French cultural scene, scientists, and art professionals. It encourages creation in all its forms, disseminating it to the largest possible public. We promote and support residency projects that focus on a wide range of themes from scientific and technological exploration to major social, political, and environmental issues of our time.
Local Information
This residency program is located in the Montmartre site of the Cité internationale des Arts. Residents are accommodated in eight furnished and fully equipped studio-apartments of approximately 50 sqm each. This program is open to artists of all nationalities, with no age limit, who have a minimum of five years of professional experience and have exhibited and shown their work and research internationally. Some twenty residents are selected each year to participate in 3 to 6-month residency sessions. Each resident is provided with a living grant of 1,000 euros per month and a production grant of 3,000 euros for their project. Travel costs from and to the residency are covered by Art Explora.
