About
CSL - Carpintarias de São Lázaro is a cultural center for contemporary cultural, where creativity, innovation and multidisciplinary crossover give an opportunity to the approximation of people, communities and knowledge. The Cultural Centre inaugurated in 2017, and after closing temporarily for construction work, reopened in 2019 with an interdisciplinary program. Since its beginning, CSL have already hosted modern dance presentations, concerts of contemporary and electronical music, as well as architectural congresses. A central part of the program have also been the contemporary art exhibitions by artists as Los Carpinteros, Alfredo Jaar, Jorge Molder, Marina Abramovic, or Per Barclay. Located in the historical city center nearby Martim Moniz, the aim is to create a new opportunity for the creation and presentation of receiving and developing various artistic competences with relevant meaning, in the support and dissemination of contemporary as well as traditional culture.
Local Information
The cultural centre is a new hub for creativity and the arts in Lisbon. One of a kind, in terms of space (its architecture and volumetry), and of position, it is located in the historical city center between Martim Moniz square and Campo dos Mártires da Pátria square.
