Dentro La Terra
About
Dentro La Terra is the colloquial expression used to refer to the historic center of the small village of Arielli, situated in the Italian region of Abruzzo. At Dentro La Terra we believe that it makes more sense than ever to plug local communities in global conversations and that - even if globalisation is often associated with the urban capitals of the world - it touches even the smallest village, opening doors, creating opportunities, and - increasingly so - raising apprehensions. We like to use the expression "tutto il mondo รจ paese". The initiative is supported by a group of individuals and professionals. As part of this vision and efforts, an ancien palazzo, renovated in 2018, has been made available as a location to create unique opportunities for artistic and cultural growth, as well as for the regeneration of an ancient Italian village.
Local Information
The residency programme is hosted in the village of Arielli (+/- 1,100 inhabitants) nestled in the Central-Italian region of Abruzzo, about 15 kilometers from both the Adriatic Sea and the foothills of the Majella mountain. Accomodation and work-spaces are situated in a palazzo, which was long owned by wealthy local landowners, with some parts dating back hundreds of years. Stretching out over three floors, it is surrounded by a large garden overlooking a forested valley, offering privacy and inspiration while being in the village center. It underwent an extensive renovation in 2018 and is now ready to welcome guests. It is called "Dentro la Terra" in honor of the colloquial expression used by the locals to refer to the historic center.
