About

Founded in 2013 by Simone Moraes, Marcelo Amorim and Nino Cais, FONTE is an artist-run space dedicated to host permanent studios and to the promotion of residency programs, also providing temporary housing and studios for local and international artists. These activities unfold into a periodic public and free of charge programming including talks, workshops, performances, screenings and open studios. Since its foundation we welcomed over 40 artists, such as Adrián Balseca (Ecuador), Gabrielle Goliath (South Africa), Nani Lamarque (Argentina), Pilar Quinteros (Chile), Sandra Gamarra (Peru) and the brazilian artists Ana Pi, Rodrigo Braga and Antonio Sobral. FONTE has also developed institutional partnerships with Associação Cultural Videobrasil, Paço das Artes, Instituto Tomie Ohtake and others.

Local Information

Located in Vila Madalena, one of Sao Paulo’s most vibrant art districts, the residency is on a walking distance from museums, art galleries, supermarkets, laundry, restaurants, bars and stores, as well as from Fradique Coutinho and Faria Lima subway stations.
