Fractal Workshop is a local grassroots art initiative. We would like to start conversations about contemporary art between artists and the public, give opportunities to emerging artists, find and create new spaces where communities can form around contemporary visual art. This year is the year of beginnings for us. We have started with a small contemporary art blog in Hungarian with the hopes of findig an interested and enthusiastic audience. While the blog is still in its infancy, we hope that it can be valuable source of information about local events and artists in the near future.
We're based in Zalaegerszeg, which is a city with county status and the seat of Zala megye (county) in western Hungary. The town is situated near the Austrian and Slovenian border and being the county capital, it can offer the resources and inspirations needed to keep your creative juices flowing while being far enough from bigger cities to have a quiet atmosphere that allows you to work without distractions. The town is also home to several museums, an Art School and a small but enthusiastic art loving community who have been working with our studio on several occasions.
