About

• Galpão is a new artist-run space, created and inaugurated in the midst of the covid-19 pandemic in São Paulo, Brazil. The space is now was born from the desire to maintain, even in times of confinement, this meeting place between artists, curators, researchers, collectors and others interested in contemporary art. The space is now run by artists that already occupied the space and former members of Ateliê397's management . •Galpão kept most of the activities that happened in the warehouse. Apart from the residency there will be courses, exhibits, public forums, debates, research of artistic processes, open workshops, studio visits, parties and others. One of the most exciting projects is using the huge space to house and welcome other projects that had to shut down because of the pandemic, becoming a hub and connecting the independent network of contemporary art production in São Paulo.
