In Cahoots Residency is a place of collaboration and creative energy, a rare opportunity for uninterrupted work time as well as dialog with other artists. Our pastoral location and light-filled studios inspire emerging and professional artists to make new discoveries and leave with a renewed passion for their work. The residency welcomes artists working in a variety of mediums, and offers specific equipment for letterpress, printmaking, and artists books. In Cahoots hosts three to five artists at a time in 1-week, 2-week or 4-week sessions. Residents are provided individual guest houses and 24-hour access to the spacious shared studios. Artists are expected to pursue independent or collaborative creative projects while at In Cahoots. For those who desire technical instruction or creative mentorship, there is a menu of possible demonstrations and mentorship levels available for an additional fee.

In Cahoots Residency is located in the countryside, 5 miles outside historic downtown Petaluma, California, and 1 hour north of San Francisco. The 3.8 acre property includes light-filled studios and quaint guest cottages, wide open fields, visiting horses, and lovely gardens of flowers and vegetables, In pastoral Sonoma County, the residency offers a peaceful environment that is in close proximity to the culture and museums of San Francisco, the wine country of Sonoma, and the beauty of the Pacific coast.
