About
Independent & Image Art Space was founded by artist Fu Wenjun in 2008. Originally located in 501 Art Base, next to Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, one of China’s top art universities, we moved in 2023 to Jinshan Yiku Cultural and Creative Industrial Park in Chongqing. Independent & Image Art Space has been paying close attention to the development of Chinese and international contemporary art. With an open attitude towards the global art scene and a unique art vision, we actively engage in the evolution of Chinese contemporary art, striving to enhance society’s understanding of contemporary art forms. Over the years, we have held numerous solo and group exhibitions for our artists as well as international cultural exchange events, displaying the artworks of photography, painting, sculpture, installation, new media art, etc. Alongside these exhibitions, we also host thematic lectures, seminars, and workshops.
