Portuguese and international residents are welcomed at La Junqueira Residency trough the invitation of Stéphane Mulliez, the founder of the residency. She is supported by professionals {artists, curators and art critics, mostly Portuguese} recognized for their skills and international networks. La Junqueira Residency welcomes two residents per year for a stay of three months maximum each. The residencies start in March and September. The artists and the curators selected for the Artist Residency may be from Portugal or abroad. No experience is necessary and there is no age limit or restriction on artistic practice. The artists selected will have the opportunity to benefit from a new experience in Lisbon and, in this way, create works within the framework of the dialogue maintained with the city of Lisbon. In order to raise awareness and promote the works created by resident artists during their stay, the Association will regularly organize visits to the studios of professionals.

Local Information

La Junqueira artists residency, located in Belém in the west of Lisbon Portugal along the Tagus River, has a magnificent architecture. Belem concentrates many museums thus offering an exceptional appeal to all lovers of contemporary art and architecture.
