About

Neptune in June is an artist-run project that strengthens local community and supports experimental art practices. It connects artists across geographic and professional silos who are making ambitious, personally meaningful work that typically falls outside commercial art market interests. We curate exhibitions locally and across the U.S., offer free interdisciplinary public events, and provide educational programs for schools + families. We are also a proud co-founder and organizer of the annual Port Chester Arts Festival. Founded in 2024 by Jenn Cacciola (Co-Founder of the former exhibition and studios space, Ice Cream Social), Neptune in June continues the curatorial and community project begun at Ice Cream Social.

Local Information

We are proudly based in Port Chester, NY. Originally nicknamed “Saw Pit” until the 1830s, Port Chester was known for its boat-building craftsmen in the early days after English settlement, and continues to be haven for builders and entrepreneurs of all sorts today. Right on the border of New York and Connecticut, it houses the Capitol Theatre (listed on the National Register of Historic Places), our arts neighbors at Clay Art Center and MAPSpace, and is a 10-minute drive to SUNY Purchase College. Port Chester is often a favorite spot for discovering authentic, family-owned, intercultural restaurants, a testament to its long history as a home-away-from-home for generations of immigrant families. Neptune in June is a humble love letter to this place.
