About
Palermofoto has been operating in Palermo since 1975, with an intense focus on photography. For years, it has organised workshops, photography courses, camps, and nature and photography trips, collaborating with numerous institutions, schools, and galleries both nationally and internationally. A central aspect of Palermofoto's mission is supporting new photography talents, with particular attention to emerging photographers in Palermo. The association promotes artistic calls that lead to the realisation of international exhibitions, such as those organised in Arles during the Rencontres photography festival and later exhibited in the city as part of the Palermo Capital of Culture program. Among its activities, Palermofoto places great emphasis on research into ancient photographic techniques, as well as the cataloging, preservation, and enhancement of historical photographs.
