About
The School of Arts of Universidade Católica Portuguesa is based in Porto and offers graduate and undergraduate courses in Film, Music, Sound, Photography, New Media, Heritage and Conservation. The selected candidate should be able to articulate/integrate the aforementioned research areas in the work to be developed during the residency. The School of Arts facilities include sound recording studios and equipment, editing rooms and filming equipment, a MoCap room, a Chroma Key studio, a fabrication lab, besides painting and sculpture studios.
Local Information
Placed inside Universidade Católica Portuguesa, the School of Arts is based in Porto and offers different degrees in arts education. Its two main areas are (1) film & new media art and (2) conservation and restoration. The School presents itself as an artistic school, focusing in the development of artists with technological knowledge but also with a humanistic education, fostering future directors or visual artists that can think the world around us. The School of Arts is one of the main Film Schools in Portugal. With over 500 students in its Sound and Image Department (across BA, MA and PhD studies), it offers a wide range of curricular options for aspiring filmmakers.
