About

The mandate of the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa (SPAO) is to provide students, artists, and the general public, the knowledge, skills, resources, and environment necessary for the advancement of photographic artistry, visual literacy and personal vision. SPAO provides an intensive and collaborative learning experience and enriches the photographic and visual arts culture of Ottawa and beyond. SPAO’s activities include community collaborations, classes and workshops, exhibitions and outreach. Three exhibition opportunities are provided to the School of the Photographic Arts: Ottawa as an opportunity to celebrate the three facets of its mentorship structure: the Photographic Arts and Production Program, Part-Time Studies, and International Artist Residency.
