Eligibility
WRITERS RESIDENCY Artist Stipend: $1000 January 11 - 25, 2023 | October 11 - 25, 2023 Seven accomplished writers will join the Writers Residency program at Franconia Sculpture Park in 2023. Writers span a range of arts-focused disciplines and will receive a stipend, full room & board, and a two-week residency at the 50-acre outdoor sculpture park. Writers will immerse themselves in the new environment and embrace the time and space to move forward in their work. Residents with an interest or practice in art writing will have the possibility to publish a piece with Mn Artists, the Walker Museum’s platform for interdisciplinary arts writing. Writers are invited to participate in an online public reading.

Program Description
Annual Theme: Public Art IS Public Health Franconia Sculpture Park (FSP) operates a 50-acre outdoor museum, an artist-in-residence program, robust public programming, and expansive educational initiatives. FSP is a cultural anchor to the Twin Cities with a national reach into contemporary art communities and a growing audience of nearly 200,000 visitors each year. We support sculpture and installation including land art, ceramics, contemporary craft, experimental sound/music, and performance art. Franconia provides a communal residency experience where up to 18 selected artists live on-site at our 4500 sq. ft. farmhouse throughout the year. Opportunities include Artist Family, Writers, and Fellowship residencies.
