Eligibility
All artists generating new works of art are eligible to apply to MacDowell. Students currently enrolled in a degree program are asked to wait to apply until they are no longer a student. Applicants 21 years of age and older may apply.
Number of Participants
MacDowell hosts 20-30 artists at one time. The artists in residence will vary in their creative disciplines, geography and diversity.

Program Description
MacDowell provides time, space, and an inspiring residential environment to artists of exceptional talent. A MacDowell Fellowship consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for two to six weeks. There are no residency fees. Artists are responsible for materials and travel expenses: financial stipends (travel reimbursement and general) noted in funding section are based on during of stay and financial need. MacDowell encourages applications from artists representing the widest possible range of perspectives and demographics. Applicants are selected based on demonstrated ability (work sample) and creative exploration (project proposal). Please note that MacDowell's property is partially accessible.
