Program Description

The School for Curatorial Studies of Venice offers an online course on everything you need to know about curating and organizing an exhibition or a pavilion at the Venice Biennale. The Venice Biennale is a large-scale international contemporary art exhibition, arguably the most prestigious in the world, filled with history and cloaked in myth. The preview days bring 25,000 artists, collectors, curators, museum directors and journalists into the city, followed by 600,000 visitors during the six months after. For this reason it is extremely important to know how everything works. The participants will learn what is necessary to know about permissions, promotion, funding and more…to make a successful event. The course will be divided in eight live lectures of two hours each, that will take place online every Tuesday and Friday. After each lecture there will be half an hour for questions and discussions.
