About
BELGRADE ART STUDIO RESIDENCY is a non-profit international art program designed to bring talented artists, creative practitioners, researchers and writers from around the world to experience a unique cultural environment dedicated to art. Selected artists are invited to live and work in specially designed studio for a period up to 6 months. By bringing the creators of art in a unique setting the Program aims to situate art at the very heart of historical Belgrade. Art studio is open year-round, providing artists / writers /curators / creative practitioners / researchers / scholars / thinkers with much-needed space and time to work on a project of their choice. Over the last 5 years, BELGRADE ART STUDIO has grown to become one of the largest international artists’ and writers’ residency program in Serbia. Our mission is to nurture the arts by offering creative individuals of the highest talent an inspiring environment in which they can produce enduring works of the imagination.
Local Information
Belgrade Art Studio brings its quirky formula of contemporary art and a warm, homey ambience to the Serbian capital. The studio opened during 2011 in a 19th-century listed building in Belgrade’s historic neighborhood. It provides artists with an environment to take themselves out of their daily routines, find new inspiration, conduct research and create new work. Belgrade Art Studio is located in the very center of Belgrade, in the most prestigious neighbourhood Dorćol, where the particular architectural style and robust cultural scene combine to provide a wealth of options for residents and visitors alike. Galleries, museums, stores, markets, fine dining are among the community’s many offerings.
