LA CELULA - USEFUL ART RESIDENCY
About
La Célula is a project to activate a 1930's house in Mexico City's "Roma" neighborhood as a sustainable residence for artists and social entrepreneurs (www.facebook.com/ResidenciaLaCelula/). It is based on the concept of "Useful Art" (www.arte-util.org), basically social art or art with a cause. All forms of artistic expression are welcome. We are an ongoing project aimed at creating a positive impact in our world, living more sustainably, generating a feeling of community and belonging and integrating art into everyday life. Our values are sharing, co-creating, inclusion, adaptability, frugality and of course having fun!
Local Information
La Célula is located in Roma Sur district in Mexico City, walking distance to many restaurants, bars, etc. and is minutes away from a the metrobus station, public bikes and metro station. From here you can reach the city center and most major attractions within 15 minutes. Roma Sur is part of the Roma-Condesa "corridor" a very active area, with lots of music, art, nightlife and all types of events happening around. Other spaces include: kitchen, workshop, patio, recording studio, urban garden, compost, living room and living quarters. WiFi is available all around the house. I don't smoke and smoking is not possible in the house, but you can go out on the patio.
