Sail Britain is an interdisciplinary project working towards positive change for the oceans through sailing, creative practice and the development and exchange of ideas. Examining our relationship with the sea while learning how to sail an ocean-going vessel allows privileged insights into an inaccessible environment. Our sailing residency programme works with crew members from the arts, sciences and communities to explore issues such as marine plastic pollution, Climate Change, singing on the sea, the cultural importance of islands, and what it means to be small on a big Blue Planet! The programme is open to all.
We are based in the United Kingdom, and our 2019 programme will take place in the Western Isles of Scotland
