Selected by Artslant Magazine as one of Berlin’s most interesting art organizations, SomoS Art House provides space and resources for the presentation, reflection, and production of the arts. SomoS offers an Artist-in-Residency program and an ambitious curated exhibition and event schedule over their 400-square-meter location in the creative center of Berlin. SomoS’ mission is to create an international open framework for innovative arts, exhibitions, education and creative cooperation. SomoS closely works with artists, organizers, and curators to realize their projects. Agility, urgency, flexibility, and high frequency are inherent features of SomoS' vision and practice.

Local Information

SomoS is situated on the first floor of a 1890’s mixed residential/commercial building at a lively main street near Kottbusser Tor; a renovated former “Kaffeehaus” in the middle of the vibrant cosmopolitan creative area connecting the Kreuzberg and Neukoelln areas. Within walking distance are numerous cafes/restaurants/clubs, art spaces, galleries and art institutions like Künstlerhaus Bethanien, the BBK Print Facilities and Media Studios, Kunstraum Kreuzberg/Bethanien and NGBK. Transport: U-Bahnhof Schönleinstrasse (subway line U8, exit Schinkestrasse) is right at the doorstep, as is the N8 Nightbus stop. It is a 200 meter walk from U-Bahnhof Kottbusser Tor (subway line U1). Here you’ll find a taxi stand as well.
