ARTIST FAMILY RESIDENCY Artist Stipend: $2000 July 12-16, 2023 or July 19-23, 2023 | Youth (Aged 8-13) July 26-30, 2023 | Teen Intensive (Grades 9-12) The Artist Family Residency invites Artist Parents and Artist Youth to be in process together for a one- to two-week process-based residency at Franconia. Coinciding with our Youth Installation Summer Camps, Artist Youth have the option to attend camp for free during the day or join the Artist Parent on-site for research. For artist parents, this is a self-directed residency. The Artist Family benefits both from the individual creative process and also through togetherness while exploring the connection between art and ecology. A culminating Parents & Community sharing of Summer Camp Works provides a joined capstone experience for the Artist Family.

Program Description

Annual Theme: Public Art IS Public Health Franconia Sculpture Park (FSP) operates a 50-acre outdoor museum, an artist-in-residence program, robust public programming, and expansive educational initiatives. FSP is a cultural anchor to the Twin Cities with a national reach into contemporary art communities and a growing audience of nearly 200,000 visitors each year. We support sculpture and installation including land art, ceramics, contemporary craft, experimental sound/music, and performance art. Franconia provides a communal residency experience where up to 18 selected artists live on-site at our 4500 sq. ft. farmhouse throughout the year. Opportunities include Artist Family, Writers, and Fellowship residencies.
