Program Description

Chateau Orquevaux offers a respite from "real" world energy. This magnificent estate in the French countryside of Champagne-Ardenne offers artists a place with limited distraction and an abundance of natural inspiration. The residencies are self-motivated and self-catering so that artists can fully immerse themselves in the environment and the french country life style. There will be no more than eight or nine artists in residence at a time. Artists are provided private rooms with a shared bath. Linens and towels are provided as well as housekeeping. The Chateau will be lightly provisioned with snacks and water. Upon arrival a champagne Dinner reception will offer an introduction to other artists in residence and an orientation of The Chateau, Park and Studio spaces. Transportation will be available for visits to the market and other area attractions. There will be some planned visits to regional areas but participation is optional.
