About
Maracuyá is an international artist residency program and project space dedicated to the advancement of contemporary art in Tijuana, Mexico. Situated in a quiet beach-town 2km south of US/Mexico border, Maracuyá’s residency program grants international artists the space and time to conduct research, build networks, explore, contemplate, share ideas, and engage in creative work alongside a diverse community of engaged thinkers. Maracuyá’s mission promotes engagement between international artists-in-residents and local transborder culture. In addition to hosting an annual cohort of established contemporary artists in our facilities, Maracuyá collaborates with local partners in the ongoing support of contemporary art in the community through our public programs. Over time, this network of local collaboration has strengthened the foundation for an ongoing contemporary art scene in Tijuana.
