Eligibility

Studio Faire invites applications from artists, writers, musicians and all other types of creative practitioner for residencies and retreats. Anyone who is serious about their creative development and who would benefit from a period of uninterrupted time to focus on developing their work in this beautiful, unspoilt region in South West France. This particular residency is open to creative practitioners working in all clean media. Fine Artists should contact the venue to discuss alternative available dates.

Program Description

Studio Faire is a contemporary art space in South West France, providing residencies for artists, writers, musicians and all other types of creative practitioner. Studio Faire is now accepting applications from writers, screenwriters, musicians, photographers and filmmakers for this 4 week residency from 21 March - 4 April 2019. The residency is based in a beautiful Maison de maître built around 1840 and still retaining its period characteristics. Situated in the market town of Nérac, in the stunning Lot-et-Garonne region, on the northern edge of Gascony, here you will find the ‘real’ unspoilt France. The live/work space on offer during this period is in what is affectionately nicknamed 'The Usher Hall' (after the grand concert hall in Edinburgh) as it is a HUGE room (679cm x 460cm) and has a beautiful marble fireplace. Walls are currently stripped back to clean plaster. It has two big windows onto the front of the house (road side), so plenty of natural light from the North.
