Eligibility

Open to all visual artists irrespective of gender, background, age, nationality or career. • The organizer will pay the cost of daily meals, accommodation and local transport during the retreat painting residency period. The artists should be responsible for the cost of the round-trip ticket from their country to Shanghai China. • The organizer will provide related materials to the artists such as necessary creation sites, tools, and materials. • After the event, the organizer will organize the exhibition and publish the catalogue 2020 The Tao Hua Tan International Spring Artist Residency Collection and deliver 3 copies to all the invited artists as a gift by mail. The mailing costs will be covered by the organizer. • During the Artist Retreat and Painting Residency period, each artist undertakes to produce no less than 3 pieces of artwork, one work in size no less than 120 x 120 cm and two works no less than 60 x 60 cm. in length each.

Program Description

This residency is a joint program by The Peach Blossom Pool Holiday Hotel, Xuancheng and Novak Graphics Inc, a Canadian corporation. International artists' retreat and painting residence workshop will take place in Tao Hua Tan, Anhui Province, China, from May 10th through May 28th, 2020. About 20 artists from China, and from different countries of the world, will be invited to participate. The participating artists will be selected by the organizer's curators: Gordan Novak, owner of Novak Graphics Inc. printmaking studio and publisher of Admiral, Saskatchewan, Canada; Liu Jian, artist, art consultant and curator from Toronto, Canada, and Beijing China; • Any artist who would like to participate in the Tao Hua Tan Spring Artist Retreat and Painting Residency 2018, should send their art resume, six (6) high-resolution photos of previous works, artist's personal photo, postal address, email address and mobile phone number by email. • To: gordannovak@gmail.com before April 10th. 2020
