Program Description

Midterm Break Family Residency A new opportunity for artists and writers with children during the Irish midterm break February 15-22nd 2020. We know many artist’s are parents, too. The logistics and cost of child care can make residencies a challenge – and many residencies don’t even allow children. We wanted to create an affordable week away where kids can be themselves and parents can get some much needed studio time. Two subsidised residencies will be awarded, one to a writer and one to a visual artist. Each recipient will receive: Accommodation for their family and themselves over 2 bedrooms at a reduced rate. Private workspace – artist studio or writer’s den. Children-in-residence can attend three art/craft workshops during the week (ideal for primary school age students. A work-in-progress sharing Friday February 21st.
