Eligibility

① Resides outside of Japan. ② Has 5 years or more of experience in his/her own area. ③ Has sufficient ability to communicate in English with other residing creators and TOKAS Residency staff for mutual understanding. ④ Independent and capable of working and living on his/her own. ⑤ A duo consisting of at least one creator residing outside of Japan is eligible. [Disciplines] A) Individual Project: Visual art, design, architecture, curation and administration B) Theme Project: Visual art, design, and architecture

Number of Participants

A) Individual project: 4 in total (2 creators for each period) B) Theme project: 2 *Creators working as a duo are also eligible. In that case, living expenses and fee for the creative work/project will be offered for one person, while airfare will be provided for both of the duo.

Program Description

"International Creator Residency Program" aims to invite distinguished and highly motivated international creators in the field of visual art, design, architecture, curation and administration and to give opportunities to work in Tokyo. We offer financial support to allow creators to develop and present new works and ideas. The result of the residency will be presented at the Open Studio and/or the Result Presentation. Under this program, there are two categories: A) Individual Project and B) Theme Project. A) Individual Project Residency Period: 3 months in either of the following periods    ① From the beginning of September to the end of November, 2020  ② From the beginning of January to the end of March, 2021 B) Theme Project *Based on the theme: "Festivity in the City"    Residency Period: 3 months from the beginning of May to the end of July, 2020
