We welcome: 1. Interdisciplinary 2. Visual arts 3. New Media AIR Theme for 2022: In 1624, the Dutch built Fort Zeelandia in Anping District in Tainan, which means Tainan is the oldest civilized town in Taiwan. 2024 will mark the 400th anniversary of the establishment of Tainan as a town or city, so this year’s call for artists aims to focus on the exploration, representation or re-consideration of Tainan through the lens of historical, cultural and societal development. The theme will be centered on the meaning and significance of Taiwan’s (global) colonial past, on human migration, and on cultural and aesthetic perspectives of the 400 years of development of Tainan city.
