The multidisciplinary artist residency program at Crosstown Arts in Memphis, Tennessee, offers residencies to visiting and Memphis-based artists and curators, working in any creative discipline including visual and performing arts, music, film, and writing in all genres. The artist must be 21 years of age or older at the time of their residency.
Number of Participants
We offer 12-15 residencies per session: a 3-month Spring Session, two 20-day Summer Sessions, and a 3-month Fall Session. One 10-month studio-only residency is offered per year. The Summer Sessions can be attended individually or consecutively.

This is an urban residency in a bustling environment. All residencies include a private studio workspace with meals provided five days a week. Live/work residencies also include a private bedroom/bathroom next to a common living area, kitchen and laundry room. A family housing option is available as well as accessible housing for residents with differing abilities. All residencies are offered at no cost to participants, who are responsible for covering their own studio materials and travel expenses to and from Memphis. All residents give a talk or presentation. Residents of 3 months or longer have additional expectations (please see application).
