Program Description

At the Crow's Nest our objective is to offer a nurturing work environment to our visiting artists where they can explore their own self led creative projects. Ultimately we are a fiber arts/ textile makers space, however we welcome other creative mediums as well including writing, collage arts, basket weaving and "small scale" wood working and painting. The studio space comes equipped with a Schacht Baby Wolf floor loom, loom shuttles, tapestry beater combs, reed and heddle hooks, a spinning wheel, a yarn warping mill, yarn ball winder, a sewing machine, fabric cutting table, hand held fabric rotary cutter and a weaving and fiber arts resource library.  We offer either a one week long farm stay (6 days for $200) or a two week long farm stay (12 days for $400). Guests cover their own food, travel, and supply costs. We do offer a free shuttle available from the Asheville, NC airport. Please visit our website for more information regarding our application process.
