Eligibility

Located just one and a half hours north of NYC, Open Grange is very accessible, yet a world away. Our space is designed for community-oriented and mission-driven remote workers and creatives. We have a strict Covid-19 policy to ensure our space is safe for residents and offer door-to-door pick up in the NYC area to help mitigate exposure. We also have a Solidarity Fund for BIPOC, in recognition of the structural inequalities that have historically separated Black people, Indigenous people, and people of color from access to farms, land, and economic resources.

Number of Participants

Residents are accepted for 1 month stays. Total number of residents living in the house may range from 3-9. Available rooms range from $1,000 - $2,000 depending on single or double occupancy.

Program Description

The Location Open Grange is located on 300 acres of protected land in Redding, Connecticut. Our residents are welcome to explore the surrounding farm with hikes, barnyard visits, and gardening. The nearest town center is a 10 minute drive away. The Farmhouse The 1840’s farmhouse is a warm and lively community space. There are four private bedrooms and two shared bathrooms on the second floor. We are also now offering a private studio space starting in April 2021. All bedrooms come with new queen or full mattresses, farm views, and a work space. The first floor includes a communal kitchen, dining room, living room, library, co-working office, yoga room, porches, and a patio. The cellar has a large taproom with ample space to gather or unwind. A washer and dryer is available onsite. Community Living Open Grange is a regenerative community centered on respect for the land and each other. Residents are encouraged to participate in communal meals and activities.
